Peckett

Wrightlines Peckett 0-4-0ST

I had built an 016.5 Wrightlines Peckett many years ago for Ashcross Industrial Museum.  Russell Wright, the original owner of Wrightlines offered me an 014 chassis that had been built for him by Kay Butler (the second owner of Wrightlines).  He suggested that I could switch the body between the two gauges as required.  He then very kindly supplied me with a full set of body castings so that I could build a complete loco.  This has taken longer that I would have liked due to competing calls on my free time.  However, the forthcoming exhibition season starting with Narrow Gauge North gave me the incentive to at least get the loco presentable.  It is built as per the instructions although I did replace the motor and gearbox with a High Level Models/Mashima combination which gave much slower running.

The weathering is a bit of a rush job and will need more attention when I get time.  I need to run the loco in a bit but it should be making it’s debut at Narrow Gauge North in March 2022.
